Hotel Review: The Landings, Rodney Bay, St Lucia

Our Stay at The Landings

I traveled to St Lucia with my wife and four daughters (ages 5, 9, 12, and 14) and chose to stay at The Landings in Rodney Bay. After a tough and tiring 8-hour flight, we transferred to the hotel in a private van with a much-needed cold beer and refreshing wet towel.

Spacious Suites with Stunning Views

We selected this hotel for its spacious suites. The Landings offers 1, 2, and 3-bedroom suites to accommodate various needs. We were fortunate to have a 3-Bed Beachfront Suite with stunning views over Pigeon Island and glorious sunsets. The addition of a Jacuzzi on the balcony made it a hit with the kids. The hotel, built around a private marina with beautiful yachts, is finished to a high standard, befitting its 5-star status.

 Delicious Dining Options

Our mornings began with breakfast at the Beach Club, which could fill you up for most of the day. The kids loved the pancakes, while I enjoyed the fruit salad and my wife indulged in a full fry-up. The long stretch of golden sand is pristine and safe for young children. My 5-year-old happily played in and out of the sea all day.

For lunch, we returned to the Beach Club, where the menu catered to all tastes. The kids immersed themselves in ordering from the kids’ set menu. The food is fresh, varied, and excellent value.

Fun and Relaxation

The Landings offers three pools and Jacuzzis, which the kids loved. My wife often relaxed on the beach or enjoyed the excellent spa facilities. The suite’s fully fitted kitchen allowed us to have lunch or early dinner on our private balcony. Each bedroom had a beautiful en-suite bathroom finished in marble. The air-conditioning throughout kept the suite cool, providing a retreat after a hot day on the beach.

Evening Entertainment

Dinner at the Beach Club was convenient and delicious, especially after happy hour from 5-6 pm. The service and prices were excellent. Friday night featured live jazz by Rob Zi Taylor, which made for a fantastic evening. For fine dining, The Palms is a great option, especially if you want a night without the kids. Rodney Bay, an 8-minute taxi ride away, offers many restaurants and bars. We enjoyed meals at Fire Grill and Big Chef, where the lobster and steaks were highlights.

Endless Activities

The Landings offers a variety of complimentary activities, including two tennis courts, a well-equipped gym, three swimming pools, two hot tubs, and a dedicated children’s club with supervised activities. The 7,000 sq-ft spa is perfect for rest and relaxation. Nearby, the St Lucia Golf and Country Club offers one of the most scenic courses in the Caribbean.

A Memorable Experience

We had a fantastic holiday at The Landings. The children loved it, made many friends, and felt safe roaming the resort. The experience was brilliant, from the suites to the food and the attentive staff who remembered all our children’s names. You will thoroughly enjoy your stay here and leave with a heavy heart.
