A two-storey villa off of the Anse Chastanet road in the beautiful Soufriere region of St Lucia. With southwest facing views, the soaring Pitons are a constant sight, and on a clear day you can even see the neighbouring island of St Vincent out across the azure blue waters.
Completely reconstructed in 1999, with wooden floors, Italian tiled bathrooms and antique items and furnishings throughout. The total liveable space is 5400 square-feet. The gardens around the property have been planted with an array of colourful flowers, blossoms, lilies and bamboo.
Guests have use of the tennis court found at the owner’s house next door. The beautiful Anse Chastanet beach is a short drive away and has superb diving and snorkelling as part of a protected marine park. The south of the island is full of natural beauty, including sulphur springs, botanical gardens, mineral baths and of course the famous Piton Mountains, which form part of a World Heritage Site. This makes the villa ideal for those who appreciate the natural world.
Due to the condition of the access road to the property, Jeep rental is strongly encouraged. There is a no smoking policy in place, only outdoor areas and around the pool are to be used for smoking.
The bedrooms are located downstairs and feature antique furniture and appointments. One bedroom has a double and a queen size bed, both four-poster, along with a cane chaise lounge, carved mirror, red cedar storage and Chinese carpet. The en-suite has shower, double sink and closet space. The master bedroom has a four-poster king size bed, antique bedside tables, red cedar armoire, mirror and Chinese rug. The en-suite is spacious with closet space, tiled shower and ample countertop space.
The main communal areas are upstairs, including the pool, kitchen and living room area. Spacious and comfortable, the living room area is 2200 square-feet with settees and large cushions. Chairs and tables are scattered around the outside terrace. The large pool features a natural clay tiled area for the loungers, with shaded areas to relax in the heat of the day. A day bed and adjacent bathroom is provided for convenience and comfort.
The kitchen is modern and fully-equipped with appliances and tableware for 8 people. The villa staff have their own dedicated bathroom in the pantry area,
The price includes a maid and a cook, plus a man who will take care of the pool and garden.
Note that staff is not optional, and must come every other day to clean. The maid/cook Verlinda is available Monday to Saturday from 9am – 3pm.
Please note that our housekeepers are not trained nannies and should not be expected to look after and/or babysit infants and children. If you do make babysitting arrangements with the staff, please be advised this is at your own risk.
